About the event

BIRDS OF A FEATHER

"Birds of a Feather" aims to promote pan-Asian American alliance and to celebrate eight Asian American artists in the Northeast Ohio region. These artists work in a variety of mediums, including painting, textiles, ceramics, drawing, and photography. Many share similar experiences having grown up in the United States as "the other." This exhibition is an opportunity to shine a spotlight on local Asian artists for Asian community members. In addition to a cultural celebration, the artists come together in this exhibition to break the stereotypes and misinformation that has been faced; perpetuated with the evolution of the Coronavirus. There is more than just race that unites each participating artist, but also a passion for creating and sharing their stories as well. The title of this exhibition, "Birds of a Feather" represents the artists as a whole, because we find solidarity with one another, as people and artists. The works included in this exhibition demonstrate and honor the identity as Asian-American artists and how diverse perspectives can enrich the greater Cleveland art community.
