Creative Connections: Abstract Painting with Lizzi Aronhalt

Whether you are new to painting or a seasoned artist, this class is for you! We will explore abstract painting through mark-making techniques, guided abstraction practice, and activities based on some of the great abstract painters of the past and present.

Each week will offer a different exploration of techniques and source materials. Students will gain new tools for their artistic skill set in the realm of abstraction. This class provides an opportunity for students to express themselves and paint boldly. We will primarily use acrylic paint. Come explore the limitless nature of abstract painting in a fun and relaxed studio setting!

Class is held over two Saturdays, October 4 2-5 PM and October 11 2-5 PM.

All supplies are included in the class fee. Ages 14 & up. Missed classes will not be refunded. Registration required by October 3rd at 6pm. Scholarships for students 17 and under and students 65 and older are available. See details below. Scholarships cover the entire class fee.

What to Bring

• Apron or old clothes. Please dress for art class.

• Sketchbook for ideas and notes (optional)

About the Instructor

Lizzi Aronhalt is a painter, educator and muralist based out of Akron Ohio. Her semi-abstract cityscapes are a vibrant exploration of memories and places. Lizzi's work can be seen in galleries and on interior and exterior walls around the Northeast Ohio region. She has an art education degree from Miami University and has been teaching for over a decade in a variety of settings. Facilitating the growth of students of all ages in their knowledge and practice of art is one of her favorite parts of being an art instructor.
