Creative Connections: Introduction to Watercolor

Three Week Introductory Course on Watercolor Painting - $95

Class Dates: March 1st, March 8th, March 15th // 2pm - 4pm

Join us for an exciting three-day journey into the world of watercolor painting! This hands-on course is designed for beginners and art enthusiasts looking to explore the creative possibilities of this unique and versatile painting technique. Over the course of three weeks (one day per week) participants will learn the fundamentals of watercolor, experiment with various techniques, and create stunning one-of-a-kind paintings. (*Scholarships available for eligible applicants. See below.)

Day 1 - Learn through instructor demonstrations of the basics of watercolor and practice these techniques with guidance to complete a small landscape painting to be taken home same day.

Day 2 - Begin to learn more advanced techniques with brush, sponge, salt, and masking to create effects. Put your skills to the test and create a small still life painting to be taken home same day.

Day 3 - Students will paint a still life compostition prepared by the instructor. The goal will be to use as many learned techniques to complete the final piece. A demonstration on how to use a watercolor block will finish off the class!

What to Bring

• Apron or old clothes. Please dress for art class.

• Sketchbook for ideas and notes (optional)

• Tools or items you'd like to work with personally (optional)

Course cannot be split into individual classes and missed classes will not be refunded. Participants must purchase the course and must cancel before the first day of class to receive a course refund.

*Scholarships are available for all Creative Connections Courses for eligible applicants, subject to availability.

White Rabbit’s Creative Connections Scholarship Fund offers full class scholarship opportunities for students 14 to 17 years old and seniors 65 and older with an interest in art and a financial need. This scholarship is intended to provide students with access to classes that will empower them creatively and nurture their artistic skills. We are fortunate that this fund is provided by a grant from ArtsForward by ArtsNow.
