Creative Connections: Monotype Printing

Three Week Course on Monotype Printing with Rubber City Prints - $75

Saturdays - June 21st, June 28th, & July 5th // 2pm-4pm.

Over the course of three days, participants will explore the printmaking process using the monotype method.  Using inks, a brayer, and other materials for inking, participants will create a work of art on paper by transferring the created image from the matrix using an etching press. During the class participants will learn ways to create line, texture and colors for printing in relief. We will invite participants to make a “class” print where all participants add something to create a final image. (*Scholarships available for eligible applicants. See below.)

Class for ages 14 & up.

• Ink and Plates

• Mixed Media Paper

What to Bring

• Apron or old clothes. Please dress for art class.

• Sketchbook for ideas and notes (optional)

• Materials with fun textures that you may want to incorporate into your piece (optional)

Participants may purchase the course (all 3 days) or individual days. Missed classes will not be refunded. (Registration required by the day before the class @ 6pm.)

Rubber City Prints is a 501(c)(3) non-profit fine art print shop dedicated to maintaining educational printmaking facilities and helping art thrive in Akron, Ohio. Rubber City Prints includes a diverse team of Directors, Artists-in-Residence, Professional Artist Keyholders, instructors, and BFA/MFA interns ready to help sell your art at workshops, private parties, local festivals, vendor stands, public pop-ups, and weekly art hops all year long in and around NE Ohio.

White Rabbit’s Creative Connections Scholarship Fund offers full class scholarship opportunities for students 14 to 17 years old and seniors 65 and older with an interest in art and a financial need. This scholarship is intended to provide students with access to classes that will empower them creatively and nurture their artistic skills.
