Creative Connections: The Art of Composition with Art Only Boutique

Saturday, August 30 2PM - 4PM

Join us for "The Art of Composition" workshop, an immersive workshop for both beginners and seasoned artists alike. Throughout the session you will engage with vibrant acrylic colors and intense inks and learn to arrange and layer the two different mediums to create compelling pieces of art. Go beyond using a brush with squeegee techniques that can turn different tools with edges into tools for making unique and interesting marks with your paint and ink. This workshop will also go over the fundamentals of composition so you can arrange the different elements of your piece to draw in the viewer's eye and create a sense of a balance and harmony.

All supplies are included in the class fee. Ages 10 & up. Missed classes will not be refunded. (Registration required by the day before the class @ 6pm.)

About the Instructors

Art Only Boutique, established in 2008, is a distinctive collection of original artwork by Dara Harper & Diane L. Johnson. The boutique produces contemporary acrylic paintings, home decor, wearable art, and art curriculum for all ages.

As a mother-daughter team Art Only Boutique advocates for and love the community where we work and live. In 2021 Dara & Diane became co-founders of the Akron Black Artist Guild, a non-profit collective that defines new ways to work together and supports artists through networking and resource opportunities.

White Rabbit’s Creative Connections Scholarship Fund offers full class scholarship opportunities for students 14 to 17 years old and seniors 65 and older with an interest in art and a financial need. This scholarship is intended to provide students with access to classes that will empower them creatively and nurture their artistic skills.
